ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Stanley W. Jacobs, M.D., F.A.C.S., is an investigator, teacher and professor at Oregan Health & Science University in Portland, Oregan. He is a board-certified surgeon and has served as instructor of surgery at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jacob has worked with methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) for 25 years and is the world's foremost expert on its research and clinical applications. He estimates that he has used MSM with at least 18,000 patients in his practice. Dr. Jacob is the co-author of Structure and Function in Man, 5th edition (W.B. Saunders, Philadelphia, PA 1982) one of the major anatomy-physiology texts used in modern medicine. Currently, he is the medical director of Cardinal Nutrition, a U.S. - based firm and the world's leading manufacturer of MSM.
Jeremy Appleton, N.D., is a naturopathic physician, writer, and educator in the field of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine. He received his doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregan, and completed a residency at Bastyr University of Natural Health Sciences in Kenmore, Washington. Dr. Appleton is the nutrition department chair at NCNM and director of scientific affairs at Cardinal Nutrition. He lectures internationally on topics in clinical nutrition and botanical medicine.
